Creative Club & Sew-cial Hour September 2014 Finishing Lay out decorative pieces on top of black background fabric Baste around the edges close to the edge Turn down about 2” on the back pocket fabric -or- use a scallop stitch to decorate edge about 2" from the top Place pocket right sides down on top of basted piece, with bottom of pocket piece flush with bottom edge Trim about 1” off the other backing piece Lay this other backing piece right side down on top of other pieces and flush with the top of the other pieces Pin and sew a ½” seam all the way around from the black fabric side, making sure to catch all layers. Trim all layers to ¼” and trim corners Turn inside out once Place a 7-1/2” square of batting inside as shown and smooth out Turn inside out one more time and poke the corners out. We’ll make holes to turn this into a notebook later.
